📝 Introduction
[Utilize this time to set expectations with yourself and with the person you’re talking with. These prompts will help users feel comfortable sharing honest feedback and will give them a better understanding of the purpose of the session.]
- Thank you for meeting with me today. I’m working with a team who’s creating a new design to improve the process of [X]. We want to learn more about your experience with communication and decision making in the current process.
- There are a few things you should keep in mind before we get started:
- These aren’t my designs so it won’t hurt my feelings if you have opinions about them. We want your honest feedback.
- We’re testing the design, not you. There are no right or wrong answers. If something doesn’t make sense to you or seems difficult, it shows that design changes might be needed.
- This is a prototype. It’s not fully functioning, so you may tap on things that don’t work. Just try to assume that everything might work and if something doesn’t, please tell me what you’d expect to happen.
- We will go through the prototype in a few scenarios, so just try to imagine as best as you can that it’s a real work scenario.
- As we go, I’d like for you to do your thinking out loud. Tell me what you’re seeing, thinking, wondering, and feeling as you go through the design.
- With your permission, we will record the audio and screen in case we miss something in our notes. Is it okay if we record this session?
- Any questions before we begin?
